Lamborghini is on the verge of introducing the Aventador Superveloce Jota, but first, here’s one more teaser to keep us going. Posted on the company’s Facebook account, the image reveals what is quite possibly the launch color of the SVJ, a Hulk-like green that suits the V12 monster perfectly. It’s actually the photo’s caption that sparked our interest, with the company from Sant’Agata Bolognese saying the ultimate Aventador will blow our minds.
We still don’t know when the SVJ will be revealed in full, but chances are we won’t have to wait much longer. We’re mostly interested in seeing how the car looks taking into account a good chunk of the technical specifications have already been disclosed. Compared to the SV, the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter engine has been dialed to deliver an extra 20 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque for a grand total of 760 hp at 8,500 rpm and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) from 6,750 rpm.
Lamborghini has also revealed the Aventador SVJ is significantly more aerodynamic thanks to active aero trickery as seen in the Huracan Performante. Downforce is up by a whopping 40 percent compared to the regular Superveloce, reaching approximately 490 kilograms at top speed, divided 40:60 front/rear. Despite going through many changes, the J has just about the same weight as the regular car, tipping the scales at 3,362 pounds (1,525 kilograms) without any fluids in it.
While the engineers have decided to stick with the single-clutch transmission, the good news is it’s a tad quicker than before as per a review posted by Top Gear magazine after driving a prototype. Still, we’re sure many would have wanted Lamborghini to implement a dual-clutch ‘box as the lack of a DCT has been considered by many as the Aventador’s main drawback.
Lamborghini isn’t saying when the official premiere will take place, but with the camouflage finally gone, the debut must be right around the corner.
